Our HMS store is open starting August 8. It will remain open until August 18. This is the only way to purchase sweatshirts and jackets. We have a very limited amount of shirts in the office. This is our final time to open the store.

Today HMS welcome backed our bus drivers with a banana split treat and HMS sweat towel! We are so thankful for our amazing team of bus drivers and all they do for our students.

We cannot wait to meet our incoming 6th graders tomorrow during Camp Buccaneer. A few important reminders:
1. We will start welcoming students and parents at 9:30. Please do not arrive prior to that time.
2. Your annual registration MUST be completed AND approved for you and your student to have access to their schedule. Please bring a copy with you or have one accessible on your phone. If you have access to their schedule, your registration had been processed.
3. Please park on the carline side of the building and enter through covered walkway. (Please do not come through the front of the school.)
4. Take lots of pictures and enjoy your time with your student.

Bossier Schools has revised its cell phone policy in response to a new state law that restricts students from using cell phones and other electronic devices during the instructional day. Please note the following revisions:
Cell phones must be turned off and stowed during instructional time, including from the time students get on/off the bus or in/out of a personal vehicle while on campus;
Electronic communication devices, including but not limited to personal computers, laptops, electronic instruments, iPads, iPods, tablet devices, e-readers or similar devices, must be powered off and properly stowed for the duration of the school day.
Each violation will result in the collection of the cell phone/electronic device. More information regarding disciplinary action can be found in school handbooks.
*Please note the revised policy does not apply to students who have an Individualized Education Program (IEP)/Individualized Accommodation Plan (IAP), Section 504 plan or Individualized Health Plan that requires use of an electronic telecommunication device.

HMS is offering a new elective for 7th and 8th graders. We are offering a yearbook class and are very excited about it. Please have your 7th or 8th grader complete the google form by Friday if they would like to apply for a spot in the class.

The Bossier Chamber of Commerce will be holding their annual 'Pack the Bus' school supply drive benefiting Bossier Schools. We hope you'll help out with this year's event! Come by the Wal-Mart Supercenter Thursday, August 1 from 11:30 to 1:30 and drop off much needed supplies to help our teachers fill the gaps in their classrooms.
