W.T. Lewis Elementary: Save the Date for our Literacy Lanterns Fall Festival: Tuesday, October 29th, from 5:00p.m. - 7:30p.m. Literacy Lanterns Fall Festival is a community-wide event. Our track will be lined with a trail of pumpkins, inflatables, carnival games, a Spooktacular Scholastic Book Fair, concessions, and entertainment by our students. Additional information about Literacy Lanterns Fall Festival was sent home with students. You can also view the information attached below. To make Literacy Lanterns a huge success, we are asking students and families to decorate a pumpkin(real or artificial) that references a work of literature for our trail of pumpkins. All students who bring a decorated pumpkin to school will receive a free dress coupon for Monday, November 4th. Jump bracelets and ten tickets can be purchased for $15 through SchoolCash Online until Friday, October 25th. Tickets are needed to play carnival style games. The price will increase to $20 the day of the event. Johnny's Pizza preorders can also be purchased through SchoolCash Online until October 25th. Our October Box Top Challenge is "Falling for Box Tops". The class that scans the most Box Tops from October 1st to October 31st will get a cookie decorating party. The Bulldog Art Club is a place for practicing artists to hone in on their skills, develop their techniques and portfolios, collaborate with other artists like themselves, create bonds with the community through the arts, and learn how to work together through group projects that will beautify the school and community. The Bulldog Art Club is open to students in all grade levels, Kindergarten through 5th grade. Each month will focus on a different medium and complete a different piece of art. The cost for October's Art Club meeting will be $35 per student, which includes all supplies needed & a snack/juice. Each month, a new sign up & registration will be sent out. Any additional proceeds will benefit the general fund, hospitality fund, technology fund & professional development fund. Art pieces are subject to be used for the Bossier Parish i3 Art Expo in February. Selected Art pieces will be kept and stored by Mrs. Mills and will be returned after the i3 Art Expo. October Art Club Meeting Information Activity: King Cake Bead Art Medium: Bead Art on Canvas The October meeting date will be Thursday, October 17th.
